Guillermo del Toro states this in a podcast.
As we recently reported, Guillermo del Toro is not working on a new project silent Hill. At The Game Awards, del Toro said he loves the art direction of Silent Hill and hopes for a new game in the horror franchise, but currently the director isn’t working on anything in the gaming field, quite the contrary.
Via the Happy Sad Confused podcast, del Toro claims to see game development “as an exercise in storytelling,” fascinates him, but he doesn’t think he’ll ever work on a video game again. Prior to Silent Hills, del Toro teamed up with the developer of Saints Row Volition on another survival horror game, Insane. That project was canceled in 2012.
“I don’t think I’d develop a game again because I’m the albatross of video gamesDel Toro said. Recall that del Toro collaborated on Silent Hills, whose demo was warmly received by fans.
Unfortunately, other than the demo there were no developments and the game was permanently canceled afterwards.
