The GTWC Europe 2024 debuts on the Circuit of Le Castellet Paul Ricard for one of the most challenging races of the season, which this year is brought forward to the beginning of April.
As many as 55 GT3 cars will appear on the starting grid, belonging to nine of the most prestigious automotive brands, each of which will field at least one of the 20 pros registered for the event.
The now fixed brands of the GTWC (Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes AMG, Porsche) have been joined this year by Aston Martin with the Vantage AMR GT3 EVO and Ford with the long-awaited Mustang GT3.
For the twelfth consecutive year, all the GT3 cars and those in the GT2 and GT4 support categories will be fitted with tires by Pirelli, with the 2022 evolution of the P Zero DHF, which during the pre-season tests, which took place on the Le Castellet circuit in March , and in the Bathurst 12 Hours last February it confirmed that it was the most appropriate technological solution for these cars and that it was a solid basis for the BoP developed by SRO.

“In the first seasonal events, the DHFs once again showed their characteristics of reliability, performance and versatility, with a great ability to adapt to the most diverse conditions even during the same race”, declared Matteo Braga, Head of Circuit Activities by Pirelli.
“As always, every event, starting with this one at Paul Ricard, will be an opportunity for us to collect data and ideas for the future developments of our technological solutions. This weekend, I expect a very close and spectacular challenge.”
“There are numerous cars that can aspire to victory and many top level drivers who will battle it out, confirming the growing quality of this championship, which becomes more and more attractive and competitive year after year.”

P ZERO DHF, SUSTAINABLE PERFORMANCE
The DHF, completely redesigned in 2022 by Pirelli engineers to accompany the incessant evolution of GT cars, has greater sustainability features than the versions that preceded it.
Already in the development phase, the environmental impact of the DHF has been reduced with the extensive use of virtual modeling to replace physical prototypes which have been reduced by almost 20%.
The P Zero range intended for GTWC and support categories uses new types of renewable materials that further reduce its environmental footprint.
For Pirelli, the productions for the GTWC, as well as for the other motorsport categories, are a test bed and at the same time an opportunity for the optimization of processes also in terms of sustainability.
The Company – the first tire manufacturer in the world to have obtained the three stars of the Environmental Accreditation Program promoted by the FIA for its commitment to sustainability in motorsport – aims to achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2030 with the progressive replacement of sources of the electricity purchased for all its factories, moving from fossil-based to renewable ones.
