GTA fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
Rockstar has finally re-entered Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on PC after removing it over the weekend and leaving many unable to play.
The Rockstar Support Twitter account has finally explained why the game has been temporarily removed. “GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is not available for playback or purchase as we have removed the files unintentionally included in these versions. We apologize for the interruption and hope to get everything back online soon“.
While Rockstar hasn’t confirmed what these files were, dataminers did find a potential clue in the game’s soundtrack. According to reports, several removed music tracks were found in the game files instead. Instead of removing them, Rockstar appears to have attempted to make them inaccessible via code. Other users found code files that included developer comments, trimmed content, scripts, and more.
However, players can rest easy now: GTA The Trilogy The Definitive Edition is available again, with Rockstar promising players more updates in the future to make the game experience even more enjoyable.
