GTA 6 was presented with a first trailer which obviously caused a great stir, but so far it seems to only be arriving on PS5 and Xbox Series Windows version has not yet been mentioned by Rockstar Gamesbut that could change.
However, the matter was taken up again by CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnickduring a recent interview with TD Cowen, from which a sort of confirmation seems to emerge that the PC version of GTA 6 exists, but that its announcement could take place at a later time, or at the “right” time, so to speak.
In fact, it would be the same strategy adopted for the previous chapters, considering that Rockstar Games has always given priority to console versions of its games, then releasing them on PC only after rather long periods of time.
The lack of an announcement leads to more announcements, Zelnick says
“Well, the lack of an announcement is not something that is set in stone, because the only thing that happens as a result of the lack of an announcement is an announcement,” Zelnick said.
And it’s a rather cryptic answer to the question about the lack of information on the PC version, which it clearly seems to indicate more news coming soon.
“Rockstar has a certain approach to the platforms that we have already seen previously”, the Take-Two CEO further clarified, with a reference that seems even more direct to the possibility of a subsequent announcement on the PC version, “and they will make further announcements in due time”.
“I firmly believe that the right strategy for our business is to be where the users are, and historically this company has reached consumers wherever they are, on any platform that makes sense over time.”
In short, Zelnick did not make precise revelations, but it seems quite clear that Rockstar Games’ intention is to follow their classic modus operandi, with GTA 6 which was initially announced on PS5 and Xbox Series console, but still arriving later on PC.
In the meantime we have learned the official release period of GTA 6, a game that apparently “aims for perfection”.
