Grenergy has been recognized as one of the fifteen most sustainable companies in the world within the energy sector. utilities —firms providing basic supplies— by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) MSCI ESG 2024. This is the third consecutive year that the index has awarded the highest rating (AAA).
MSCI highlights the improvement that Grenergy has made in terms of reducing CO2 emissions, thanks to its practices and objectives in this area. Through its Net Zero strategy, Grenergy has committed to being carbon neutral by 2040.
The report also points out its leadership within the renewable energy sector. This position has been reinforced by the recent expansion of Oasis de Atacama in Chile; in addition to the acquisition of 1 GW of solar capacity from Repsol and Ibereólica has allowed Grenergy to consolidate this project of 11 GWh of storage and 2 GW solar.
The firm is also recognized by MSCI for having strengthened its corporate structure with the splitting of the functions of executive president and CEOs, as well as with the formation of a majority independent council.
