The next contract with the ORA concessionaire will include reimbursing the neighbors for the amounts paid and not consumed
The Sewer Plenary yesterday gave the green light to the initial Sustainable Urban Mobility project (PMUS), which will structure and integrate the transport networks available in the municipality from an efficient and environmentally friendly point of view, the local government reported.
“The objective is to reduce the use of fossil fuels, polluting emissions and noise levels, while promoting the use of non-polluting collective and individual transport, such as bicycles and pedestrian mobility,” they added from the team of government.
The SUMP includes the lines of action to improve mobility, such as the creation of pedestrian and cycling routes, the increase in road safety, the redistribution of parking areas, the optimization of spaces for loading and unloading and the installation of points charging station for electric vehicles.
For its preparation, the Local Development Agency has had the participation of political parties, associations and neighbors, “through individual surveys and work tables.”
In another order of business, the session unanimously moved forward to dedicate an avenue to the Zaragoza 5 Parachute Regiment, located in the northern access to the municipality and currently known as the Las Torres de Cotillas highway (N-344). A motion was also approved unanimously to develop a mechanism to regulate the names of public roads in the municipality, in order to protect and maintain the names of the streets, squares and historic places of Alcantarilla that includes, at least, all the names with more than 100 years old.
Another of the proposals unanimously put forward was to maintain collaboration with associations that serve people with functional diversity and their families, to promote the construction of an occupational center for people over 21 years of age on municipal land.
Also included in the next ORA contract will be the obligation to the concessionaire company to reimburse users for amounts paid and not consumed in the form of refund, compensation or accumulation of balance in any payment method.
