MotoGP Catalonia, Tardozzi fury against Spencer
A weekend to forget for Enea Bastianiniwho would have hoped for a good race at Montmeló to gain even more credibility in the fight for the 2025 Ducati Factory seat. Instead, the Beast he only reached ninth place at the finish line, and what’s more he was penalized 30 seconds for not having “served” the ball first long lap penalty and then double long lap penalty fined for cutting the track in the duel with Alex Marquez.
Tardozzi’s words
Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi doesn’t agree and defends the #23: “Let’s start by saying that when they give you a long lap penalty you have to do it, otherwise you will receive worse consequences“, these are his words to Sky Sports MotoGP. “During the race we analyzed what happened and Enea was totally right: Marquez pushed him out, Enea saved a possible contacthe couldn’t help but cut and among other things he returned behind Alex”.
“I’m stunned by the 30 second penalty, It seems to me that the stewards realized they had made a mistake. I protested against them and Freddie Spencer (head of the MotoGP stewards, ed.) he lowered his eyes when I asked him what he would have done in Enea’s place on a motorbike“, he continued.
“I hope they remove this penalty, although I fear they won’t. I would appreciate it being an admission of guilt on their part, it would be professional to apologize“.
