Government delivers expansion of the Ponta Grossa supply system – ISTOÉ DINHEIRO

The federal government delivered this Friday (5) the expansion of the Water Supply System (SAA) in the municipality of Ponta Grossa, in Paraná.

Carried out by the Paraná Sanitation Company (Sanepar), the expansion work will serve the Uvaranas, Maria Otília and Los Angeles neighborhoods, in addition to ensuring regular distribution of treated water to the entire population of the municipality, estimated at 358 thousand people.

R$ 51.8 million were invested in the work, of which R$ 46.6 million in funding from the Employment Compensation Fund (FGTS), through the Advance Cities – Sanitation Program, and R$ 5.2 million in counterparts.

The event was attended by the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, and the national secretary of Sanitation of the Ministry of Regional Development (MDR), Pedro Maranhão.

The project comprises eight pumping stations, 103.3 km of networks/water mains and two reservoirs with a capacity of 5 thousand m³ of water each. In addition to the expansion of the water supply system, electrical installations, an urbanization project and crossing infrastructure for the population were carried out.

According to the ministry, since January this year, R$ 300.33 million have been transferred by the MDR to ensure the continuity of basic sanitation projects throughout the country.
