Nowadays, it seems that subscription services are everywhere, even in those that did not have them before, such as Google. Chrome. That's how it is, one of the most popular browsers now has a cost. Fortunately, the free version that we are all used to is still available.
Through a statement, Google announced Chrome Enterprise Premium, a subscription service focused on offering additional security options to the browser. For just $6 a month, all interested users will have access to four more featureswhich use artificial intelligence to ensure that Internet surfers are able to protect their private information.
Although anyone can purchase Chrome Enterprise Premium, It is important to mention that the new subscription service is focused mainly on companies. In total, here we can find four completely new functions that we cannot access without paying:
- Data Loss Prevention: Helps prevent the accidental leak of sensitive information, and offers protection from malware and phishing.
- Detect security threats through websites or unwanted users: Browsers can now mark users, domains and data as high-risk files to protect them.
- Protect data and perform security analysis of files and websites remotely.
- Apply specific controls to web pages, and create different categories to avoid security risks.
All of this will be available to those who pay a $6 monthly subscription, something that might be a big blow to some, but not to others. As Google mentions, The plan is focused mainly on companies, so if you don't join this service, you aren't missing much. In related topics, Google changes the login page. Likewise, Google will delete data from Chrome's incognito mode.
Editor's Note:
Not everything has to be a subscription service, but at least Google has made it clear that the focus here is on businesses, who can easily pay $6 a month for each of their employees. If you are someone who uses Chrome to watch YouTube and your social networks, then there is no need to pay for the plan.
