Airlines confirmed changes to trips scheduled for Wednesday (January 24) due to a general strike scheduled for the same day in the country
The general strike called by the CGT (General Confederation of Labor) in Argentina led Brazilian airlines to cancel flights scheduled for Wednesday (24 January 2024), the first day of the strike. The companies GOL and Latam reported changes to travel in the neighboring country. Azul does not operate on Argentine soil.
GOL said it had canceled 22 flights to and/or return to Argentine airports. It states that the “action is due to the general strike announced for the country on this date, which will affect all airport operations in the cities in which the company operates”.
Latam reported that “there is a possibility of delays or cancellations” on flights to or from the neighboring country. I didn't say how many there would be. A consultation on airline website this Saturday afternoon (Jan 24) shows that at least 11 flights between Brazil and Argentina were cancelled.
