The bodies found in Lomas de Poleo on Tuesday afternoon remain unidentified, although it is still presumed that they may be the remains of Alejandro González González, 28, and Brandon Alexis García Jiménez, 22, the first a National Guard agent considered a deserter since April for misdemeanors – due to his disappearance – and the second who left the civil force days before his trail was lost.
The National Guard has already stopped paying Alejandro’s salary. According to the District Attorney for the Northern Zone, Carlos Manuel Salas, the families of both were notified after the discovery, but due to the advanced state of decomposition of both bodies, physical identification was impossible, so other tests will be necessary. “We need it to be scientifically proven,” he said. The search for both has been carried out by the Missing and Unlocated Persons Unit of the local Attorney General’s Office, as well as the State Investigation Agency, and mainly by his family since the first hours when they suspected his disappearance. Both disappeared on February 21; 210 days have passed, thousands of inquiries have been made in the city, Alejandro’s family sought the intervention of a –then– presidential candidate of Mexico, and even the National Guard stopped paying his salary –despite the fact that military protocols establish a two-year period of disappearance for this–. On February 20, Alejandro had a birthday and his mother had a birthday on the 21st, so they celebrated their respective anniversaries together. Barbara Gonzalez, Brandon Alexis Garcia Jimenez’s wife, went to the house. They deserted the National Guard for personal reasons and stayed in the city to celebrate David Alejandro’s birthday. Both men left David Alejandro’s house at approximately 6:30 p.m., aboard a blue vehicle with national license plates B08 SEH1, which both friends left in a parking lot at the San Jerónimo-Santa Teresa international crossing, and asked a security guard to take care of it. David’s mother and Brandon’s wife presume that they boarded another vehicle there. Given the delay of both men and the fact that she had no further contact with them, Barbara located Brandon after midnight on February 22 in a house on Pez Martillo Street in the Anapra neighborhood. David Alejandro’s phone was on the same street, but both were separated by a street. That day they notified the Ninth Motorized Cavalry Regiment, as well as a lieutenant from the National Guard barracks located on Enrique Pinocelli Street. On the 23rd they filed the report for absence before the State Attorney General’s Office. On September 17, the Attorney General’s Office reported the discovery of two bones clandestinely buried in a vacant lot on Del Chabacano Street, in Lomas de Poleo. “The remains were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service to perform technical-scientific analyses that help determine the cause and time of death, as well as their identity,” the social representation specified yesterday in a statement.
