with videoA glider has hit a tree on the site of the Terlet National Gliding Center near Arnhem. The fire brigade reports that the pilot, a 59-year-old man from Gouda, got out and, apart from a few scratches, did not sustain any injuries. There were no other people on the plane.

The incident took place just after 4 p.m. during the landing. The fire brigade was on the scene shortly afterwards. It is not known how the accident could have happened.
The police report that the pilot is startled and has been checked by paramedics to be sure. A spokesman said the glider flew into a group of trees and a wing has broken off. The cause is being investigated.
