Gladkov: 52 victims of shelling in the Belgorod region are in hospitals
Two children and 50 adults injured as a result of shelling of the Belgorod region by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are in hospitals. The head of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced this in his Telegram-channel.
According to him, in Belgorod city hospital No. 2 there are 26 people from Shebekino and Belgorod, as well as a number of villages and hamlets. Three of them are in intensive care in serious condition.
In turn, 24 people are undergoing treatment at the regional clinical hospital of St. Joasaph. They are in the wards of the traumatology, burns, surgical, neurosurgical departments, as well as the departments of maxillofacial surgery, eye microsurgery and intensive care.
“Many thanks to the doctors, all the medical staff and personally the head doctor of the hospital, Roman Viktorovich Protsenko, for the assistance provided and care for the injured people. We will definitely do everything that depends on us regarding their rehabilitation and return to normal life,” Gladkov wrote.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces again fired shells at the Belgorod region. They were shot down at about 16:30 (Moscow time) by air defense systems on duty. The shelling was carried out from the Vilkha multiple launch rocket system; two shells were destroyed.
In addition, on May 26, Belgorod was attacked by the Ukrainian Armed Forces using an aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicle.
