The eDreams Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks and the Zurich Marathon Barcelona have closed a collaboration agreement with Vercho, a new and locally created application that is the virtual assistant in charge of designing the official training plans for both events for 2025, doing so in a personalized way for each participant. A service that is now available from this Monday, November 25, by downloading the app for Android and IOS, synchronizing with Garmin or Apple watches and connecting to Strava with your mobile.
Thus, each male and female runner in these two events in 2025 will have the option of obtaining their personalized plan based on: their abilities, age, sex, running experience, their pace, how many days a week they want to train and what days, schedules of training, whether you are going to train strength or not and how to do it, among other variables, with a week-by-week report of your progress to update said personalized training plan for each user. A novelty for the next editions of the two most important races in Barcelona that represents a qualitative leap in terms of technology for the preparation of both tests and that positions them as two pioneering running events in the union between sport and artificial intelligence.
Both the eDreams Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks and the Zurich Marató Barcelona prioritize quality over quantity. That’s why they have Vercho, which is endorsed by ProAm Training and that uses a methodology based on this premise to discover the right dose that each person needs in their training and optimize them to the maximum. The training plans of this application are created by crossing personal data and data with scientific validity, also provided by a collaboration with the Blanquerna University of Barcelona, which works on different lines of research.
What is Vercho?
Vercho is a virtual training assistant based on the knowledge of up to 20 sports professionals (nutritionists, physical trainers, sports psychologists, etc.) and the data provided by AI, endorsed by ProAm Training. Thus, through a questionnaire of only 15 questions, the application can generate a personalized training plan to prepare for a race or for a specific date, according to the objectives of each person and adapting it to the weekly progress of each user.
In addition, this virtual trainer offers multimedia content in pop-up format based on how each user’s training progression is going, providing specialized advice from professionals in a short and visually attractive format.
