Aston Villa coach Steven Gerrard has contracted the Corona virus, and will miss two matches for the team in the English Premier League, the club announced.
And a “tweet” for the club on Twitter stated: Aston Villa can confirm that coach Steven Gerrard will not be able to attend our next two Premier League matches against Chelsea and Leeds United, as he will be in isolation after suffering from “Covid-19.”
The former Liverpool player said that it would be a “nightmare” if his team had to play two matches within two days with only 14 players available, adding that everyone in the club was concerned about the possibility of contracting the virus.
And the former England international added: “At the end of the week, one of the players hesitated to get out of his car, because he showed some symptoms and he has a young family, and we can fully understand his point of view on this situation.”
He said: No one wants to catch this virus, everyone wants to protect his family, this is our mission and priority will always be for the family.
