The German Bundestag raised the issue of the BRICS peace plan for Ukraine
Member of the German Bundestag from the BSW party (Sarah Wagenknecht Union) Sevim Dagdalen raised the issue of the peace plan for Ukraine proposed by the BRICS member states Brazil and China. This is stated in the deputy’s appeal to the government, the text of which was studied by Lenta.ru.
“Does the federal government support the BRICS initiative of Brazil and China for peace negotiations on the Ukrainian conflict “at an appropriate time, recognized by both Russia and Ukraine, with equal participation of all parties and fair discussion of all peace plans”?” – says the text of Dagdalen’s parliamentary request.
Moreover, the parliamentarian also asked the German government about its attitude towards the upcoming summit on Ukraine, which will be held in Switzerland from June 15 to 16 and to which Russia was not invited.
On May 24, Brazil and China proposed holding a new conference on Ukraine, which would be hosted by both Moscow and Kyiv. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and former head of the Brazilian Foreign Ministry and presidential adviser Celso Amorim spoke about the readiness of states to promote a peaceful settlement.
“China and Brazil support holding an international peace conference at an appropriate time, recognized by both Russia and Ukraine, with equal participation by all parties, as well as fair discussion of all peace plans,” the diplomats said in a joint statement.
