Robert Habeck, Vice Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, called on the international community to immediately supply more weapons and ammunition to Ukraine.
In statements to German television channel ZDF, Habeck said in Moldova, late on Friday evening after his visit to Ukraine: “There is a gap now, but it is limited.”
The Green Party politician, who also holds the position of Minister of Economy and Climate Protection, added: “The situation is really tense at the moment. “This means that all countries that can help should help now, not in five months, or ten months.”
Habeck expressed his hope that the United States would announce its readiness to provide Ukraine with part of its existing Patriot air defense systems, which number 60 systems.
Habeck believed that things would improve by the summer, and said that Ukraine knows that it is in a difficult stage, “but it is a stage.”
