Germany and England drew 1-1 in Munich for the UEFA Nations League. Jonas Hoffmann scored the 1-0 for those led by Flick, while Harry Kane managed to equalize it from a penalty in the 88th minute.
It was an even game, in which both had many scoring chances and it ended up being a fair draw. The locals had more possession (57%) and in total they made 14 shots (eight on goal). For their part, those of Southgate had 16 shots on goal (six on goal), but they needed a penalty to score the only goal.
The penalty that gave England the tie was after a VAR review, after a trip from Schlotterbeck. That little blooper from the Freiburg player led to both teams finishing tied.
Neither Germany nor England managed to win so far in the League of Nations. Germany is coming off a 1-1 draw against Italy away from home, while England lost 1-0 to Hungary in the big upset of Matchday 1.
Harry Kane has surpassed Bobby Charlton to reach 50 goals and is three goals shy of catching Wayne Rooney as England’s top scorer.
