Twelve challenges, five teams, twenty-five streamers and ten casters, all seasoned with the best ASUS ROG configurations, powered by NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 graphics cards: the GeForce RTX Challenge it was this and much more.
The city of Montpellier was the stage for an initiative that brought together top-level hardware, video games, competition, the “magic” of NVIDIA Canvas and lots and lots of fun. We at Multiplayer.it were guests of NVIDIA on an Italian exclusive and we are ready to tell you about our personal adventure.
Beyond the tournament
After a few years of absence, the GeForce RTX Challenge has returned to grind FPS with the collaboration of ASUS ROG, which has made available the best laptops and top-of-the-range components, all rigorously equipped with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 GPU.
The tournament, which took place on April 21st, involved five teams representing Italy, Germany, Great Britain, Spain and France, made up of some of the best European streamers: the Italian team was made up of Attrix, Savyultras90, Kodomo, Babbalucy and Il Fossa, accompanied by two exceptional casters such as S7ormy and Moonryde.
The competition took shape with a particular approach, substantially divided into two different sessions, one in Main Stage and the other in the stations for Continuous Game: the Main Stage was the protagonist of the direct clashes between the various “nationals”, dealing with Counter Strike 2, Valorant and Party Animals, while in the secondary stations the various participants continued to gain points for their team with titles such as Call of Duty Warzone, The Finals, Minecraft, Diablo IV, LEGO Fortnite, Portal and Rocket Racing. The Continuous Game was interspersed with two FAA sessions which saw the teams compete in a 5 vs 5 and a Creative Challenge which staged the capabilities of NVIDIA Canvas: at this juncture each team created a fun reinterpretation of the famous board game Taboo, with the difference that the words were transformed into images by the computing power of NVIDIA's AI.
The splendid GeForce RTX Challenge trophy was won by the French team: our boys were unable to find the right alchemy in the direct clashes, despite the excellent performances of Attrix, who particularly shone in CS2, leaving the team's hopes alive until to the last.
Also worthy of mention are the exploits of Savyultras90 in the Continuous Game sessions with Warzone and the commitment of Kodomo and Babbalucy dealing with LEGO Fortnite and Diablo IV. In the end the score did not do justice to the Italian team, which nevertheless showcased the individual skills of the participants. However, on the entertainment front, as often happens, we had no rivals.
NVIDIA gaming
The real protagonist of the tournament, however, was the ASUS ROG hardware, driven by NVIDIA technologies: the stations were powered by the power of laptops ROG Strix Scar with 18-inch Mini-LED displays equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 graphics cards and ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 with OLED display and, once again, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 GPU.
During the competition, NVIDIA DLSS, accompanied by Frame Generation, allowed players to achieve high-level performance in terms of framerate, with latency reduced to a minimum thanks to NVIDIA Reflex and with graphics quality pushed to the maximum by NVIDIA RTX technologies which made the various titles shine with Ray Tracing and Path Tracing: challenging yourself with uncompromising fps is the dream of every competitive player and from this point of view the NVIDIA event did not disappoint expectations.
Beyond the challenge however, GeForce RTX Challenge was a great party for PC Gaming lovers and for all fans of the green house.
