The company “Gazprom” on Monday, December 20, during the auction, did not order additional transit capacity through Ukraine in January next year. This is evidenced by the auction data on the site GSA Platform…
It is noted that during the auction, the “Ukrainian GTS Operator” offered transit capacity for the next month up to 5.2 million cubic meters. m per day through the gas distribution station “Sokhranovka” and up to 9.8 million cubic meters. m per day through the station “Sudzha”, but they were not in demand.
It became known that Gazprom had booked only 21.6% of transit capacity via the Yamal-Europe pipeline through Poland for January.
In addition, in December, the company ordered daily gas pumping capacities across Yamal-Europe. At the same time, the booking volume of transit volumes has been falling since December 17, when Gazprom reduced the booking of transit capacities from 31.4 million cubic meters. m at the beginning of the week to 26.8 million cubic meters. m.
Also, the volume of fuel pumped on December 18 decreased to 5.2 million cubic meters. m, and on December 19, it amounted to 4.2 million cubic meters. m.
Earlier, on November 2, Gazprom refused to book additional gas transit capacity for the first quarter of next year.
On November 1, the general director of the Ukrainian GTS Operator, Sergei Makogon, said that the daily transit of Russian natural gas through Ukraine had decreased by more than a third compared to October 1. He said that on October 1, the transit volume amounted to 86 million cubic meters. m per day, and on November 1 – 57 million. Makogon pointed out that “Gazprom” pays for transit capacity of 109 million cubic meters. m.
The transit agreement between Moscow and Kiev, concluded for five years, provides for transit in 2021-2024 at 40 billion cubic meters. m per year. Gazprom pays for capacities regardless of the actual volumes of transportation through the territory of Ukraine.
Yamal-Europe, with a design capacity of 32.9 billion cubic meters. m of gas per year, passes through the territory of Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany. Polish consumers receive blue fuel through it not only directly from the Russian Federation, but also through a virtual reverse from Germany. In the event that the request for a virtual reverse exceeds the direct physical flow, the gas pipeline can switch to a physically reverse mode.
