Israeli Channel 14 reported that Israel is studying the first phase of the ceasefire and the release of high-sentenced Palestinian prisoners.
She explained that Israel is preparing to send a delegation to Cairo in order to resume negotiations with Hamas on a prisoner exchange deal next week, according to the Jerusalem Post.
The Israeli channel considered this news as submission to American pressure.
The conversation continued: “The Israeli delegation to Cairo will include the head of the Shin Bet, the head of the Mossad, and Reserve General Netan Alon, who will discuss the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Israeli prisoners.”
The Israeli position
The Israeli channel reported that the decision taken in the mini-cabinet was not to boycott negotiations with Hamas despite its unacceptable demands, and to delay sending the delegation in order to send messages that Israel is not in a rush, and that Hamas’ demands are unacceptable.
Regarding the Israeli red lines, the channel said that they center on no comprehensive ceasefire, no withdrawal from Gaza, and no truce for four and a half months.
She added: “It is possible to agree to a 45-day ceasefire in the first phase, and to release 35 Israeli prisoners, including children, women, the elderly, and the wounded, while preparing to release prisoners of high sentencing with the final phase, which includes the release of all Israeli prisoners, but “Not in the numbers that Hamas wants.”
