Fire responds to Leclerc
Antonio Fuoco he entered together with Nicklas Nielsen and Miguel Molina in the roll of honor of the winning drivers of the 24 hours of Le Mans. A few weeks ago, his friend Charles Leclerc broke free in F1 at home in the Monaco GP and Fuoco was no exception this weekend on the circuit de la Sarthe, immediately receiving compliments from his former F2 teammate in 2017 (the two shared the Prema garage as rookies in the category with Leclerc who won the title).
Among many highlights of the Fire weekend there is undoubtedly the overtaking on the #5 Porsche before braking at the Indianapolis, taking the risk of putting the slick tires off the line in the wet to take the inside. A maneuver that encompasses the talent of the Calabrian driver and the courage and determination shown throughout this 92nd edition of the 24 hours of Le Mans.
Antonio Fuoco commented on the victory like this: “We were perfect all weekend, so I believe this success is well deserved. It’s been a long wait since last year, so we’ll have a chance to enjoy it fully. The result is even better because we got on the podium together with the #51. The atmosphere here is always incredible, starting from the test day, when you meet the fans with the Ferrari flag. These aspects also give you extra motivation to give your best. Even during the race, at night, with the rain, it was nice to see that along the track, in the stands, there was always a large crowd. It’s incredible how much passion you breathe. I think there are no words to explain this moment.”
The explosion of joy di Fuoco and Molina, the moment Nielsen crossed the finish line, explains more than a thousand words what today’s victory meant for the crew of Ferrari #50.
