The Deputy Director General of Police Operations of the Fujairah Police, Ali Rashid bin Awash Al Yamahi, revealed that the General Command had seized 43 vehicles and recorded 1,469 traffic violations due to their drivers’ behaviors far from manifestations of civilized celebration during the 51st Union Day holiday period, stressing that the detention period for violating vehicles is up to two months. The fine is 2,000 dirhams, in addition to black points for drivers.
Al-Yamahi stated that the most prominent violations that were caught during the celebrations of the Union Day are the use of “spray materials” by drivers, the introduction of appendages on vehicles that affect vision and safety, the provision of sound systems to vehicles, which causes noise, driving the vehicle in a manner that poses a danger to the public, driving recklessly and increasing the percentage of coloring. And passengers sitting on the windows and exiting the sunroof of the vehicle and other violations.
Al-Yamahi explained that the drivers whose vehicles were impounded violated the vehicle decorating regulations and the Traffic Law, despite the extensive awareness-raising through various media outlets to raise traffic awareness by publishing and clarifying the vehicle decoration controls, reflecting the culture of respect for regulations and laws and the concern for public safety.
It is noteworthy that the General Command of the Fujairah Police has covered traffic points and places of celebrations that were held on the 51st National Day.
