The Fujairah Men’s Martial Arts Club team and Sharjah Club’s juniors were crowned with the title of the “50th Union Day” for judo organized by the Wrestling and Judo Federation at Khorfakkan Club hall yesterday, under the patronage of Mohammed bin Thaloub Al-Dari, President of the Federation, and witnessed the participation of 134 players from 6 clubs at the level of both categories, namely Al Nasr, Sharjah, Najira Dubai, Kalba Union, Fujairah Martial Arts, next to Khor Fakkan, the host of the tournament.
The crowning of the Fujairah team in the men’s category came after it managed to win 13 medals, including 4 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze. The Kalba Federation came in second place with 7 medals, including 3 gold, 3 silver and bronze. The fourth place went to Najira Dubai, followed by Sharjah fourth, Khorfakkan is fifth, then Al-Nasr is the latest judo club sixth.
Sharjah Club deserved the junior title, after its success in winning 8 medals, including 4 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze. The runner-up went to the Kalba Union with 10 medals, including 2 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze, while Fujairah Martial Arts came third with 6 medals, including 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.
The winners of the first places were crowned Nasser Al-Tamimi, Secretary General, accompanied by Mohammed Jassim, Assistant Secretary, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Salem Rashid Al-Naqbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Khorfakkan Club, Khaled Murad Al-Raisi, Supervisor of Individual Games at Khorfakkan Club, Issa bin Howaiden, member of the Board of Directors of Ittihad Kalba Club, and Abdulaziz Youssef Musharraf individual games club Kalba Union.
