The Fujairah Adventure Center announced the suspension of entry to mountain trails and outdoor activities in the emirate, starting today, June 1, in a step aimed at protecting individuals and companies accredited by the center from the dangers of heat exhaustion.
The center explained that this decision came due to the onset of the summer season and the rise in temperatures to levels in which outdoor recreational activities are not permitted, indicating that the situation will be re-evaluated when weather conditions improve.
He stressed that he attaches utmost importance to the safety of adventurers and protecting them from any injury that may result from practicing outdoor activities, in light of the high temperatures.
He also stressed his commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for adventure lovers, including citizens, residents and tourists, by issuing decisions that preserve the safety of adventurers and enhance awareness of enjoying nature responsibly, pointing out that individuals and companies are being made aware through dedicated workshops aimed at controlling their activities and reducing negative practices that affect their lives. The mountainous environment directly, such as throwing organic waste that affects groundwater in the future, or approaching poisonous plants and wild animals that require immediate medical intervention, etc.
The center stressed that if any violators are spotted practicing mountain climbing or walking along mountain paths, and other outdoor recreational activities, it will take a number of measures against the violators, starting with educating them by inspectors. However, if the violation is repeated, strict legal measures will be taken against them. Whether they are individuals or companies.
He stated that the penalties include a fine of 25 thousand dirhams for anyone who exposes the lives of others to danger, and in the event of a repeat violation, the fine reaches 50 thousand dirhams, in addition to completely stopping the activity of the violating company in the emirate, stressing the necessity of adhering to this decision, in the interest of public safety. To prevent any accidents that may endanger people’s lives.
