Sinaloa.- The Freedom of expression in Mexico is threatened by those in power who attack journalism, and by those who use language to discriminate against Mexicans; By virtue of this, she expressed her solidarity with Carmen Aristegui, Carlos Loret de Mola and with the families of the journalists murdered in Mexico in the last three years, affirmed the federal deputy for Sinaloa, Paloma Sanchez Ramos.
In the gallery, he stressed that in the face of the attacks received by communicators, “you know that you have the support of millions of Mexicans who applaud your defense of the truth,” and then requested a minute of silence for the journalists killed in response to their valuable work for Mexico.
The legislator for Sinaloa called for the use of telecommunications and all means of mass communication for the good of Mexicans, “to promote the pride that we should have for our country, but also to promote tolerance among us.”

Paloma Sánchez stressed that the only measure that should prevail around our use of language is one that censors violence, because as long as language is used to attack others for their way of thinking, Mexico will not be able to live in peace.
“Let us use our words with the intention of reunifying the country and not to continue polarizing it, since this encourages language to be used as a mechanism of violence, instead of using it to rescue the value of each position,” he indicated.
When presenting the opinion of the decree that repeals section IX of article 223 of the Federal Telecommunications Law, voted in favor by a majority of votes, which allows radio and TV transmissions to have no restriction on the use of language except in cases promotion of violence, stated that it represents a discriminatory act not to allow language to be used in a different way so that it is inclusive.
The federal deputy of the tricolor bench stated that the value of a democracy lies in the diversity of ideas that are allowed to be expressed, for which her party promoted this opinion. The PRI’s commitment, she stressed, is to strengthen free expression, so “our vote is with the Mexicans who seek respect for their way of expressing themselves and living through their language,” she affirmed.
He specified that Mexico today ranks 143rd out of 180 among the countries with the least freedom of the press, and is, along with Afghanistan, the worst place to practice journalism in the world.

Finally, legislator Paloma Sánchez pointed out that in a country where 66 percent of women have suffered verbal violence, where one in three journalists must flee their places of origin for fear of reprisals for what they publish, it is necessary that the law protects those who violate freedom of expression.
