Fifa expressed its regret on Thursday for the death of former Colombian soccer player Freddy Rincónwho died as a result of the injuries he suffered last Monday in a traffic accident in the Colombian city of Cali.
“We join many in the world of football in remembering Freddy Rincón. Our deepest condolences go out to his loved ones, former teammates and fans of the clubs he played for and the national team, which he represented in three World Cups. Rest in peace,” FIFA broadcast on social media.

Rincón, 55, a former Corinthians and Real Madrid player, among other teams, was traveling in a van along with three other people that crashed early Monday morning against a public service bus in Cali, capital of the Valle del Cauca department. .

From the president of Conmebol, the Paraguayan Alejandro Domínguez, to former teammates such as Iván René Valenciano or the Ecuadorian Alex Aguinaga and numerous clubs have shown their condolences for the death of former Colombian player Freddy Rincón, who died this morning, at the age of 55, by not overcoming the injuries that occurred on Monday in a traffic accident in Cali.
