France, the Cannes attacker is an Algerian with Italian permission. Central Commissariat agents hit, “in the name of the prophet”
AND’ a 37-year-old Algerian unknown to the police and the French 007 the man who this morning assaulted the agents in Cannes with a knife claiming to act “in the name of the prophet”. According to Le Figaro his name is Lakhdar B. and he is in possession of an Italian residence permit. Also according to the French newspaper, he arrived in France legally in 2016.
The episode, for which we follow the terrorist trail, it happened at 6.35 am, writes Nice Matin. The man in particular threw himself at a policeman, opening the door of the steering wheel and stabbing the agent, sitting in the driver’s seat, hitting him in the chest three times. The policeman, police sources explained, is saved thanks to the bulletproof vest he wore.
The attacker then went to the other side and attempted to stab his colleague, sitting in the passenger seat, but without success. At that point the officer behind the wheel, hit first, opened fire by firing three shots, two of which wounded the assailant in the back. The man, we still read in Le Figaro, has therefore repeatedly claimed to act in the name of the prophet before being neutralized.
