The French Ministry of Economy has imposed an administrative fine of almost 10.3 million euros on Eureca, an international purchasing center established in Spain, belonging to Carrefour, for failure to comply with the deadline applicable to the conclusion of contracts with its suppliers established in France. .
According to the statement from the General Directorate of Competition, Consumption and Fraud Prevention, a body dependent on the ministry, the sanction is due to 12 breaches of their obligation to sign agreements concluded with their suppliers no later than January 15 and 31, 2024.
These delays were noted by the services of the Directorate of Economy, Employment, Labor and Solidarity (Drieets) of Ile-de-France as part of a investigation carried out by the ministry body on compliance with the rules of the commercial code regarding balance and transparency in commercial relations.
Eureca is a subsidiary of the Carrefour group Responsible for negotiating commercial conditions with suppliersin particular of the products sold in the brand’s French stores.
