When Spain last topped the podium (1992), its current top scorer, Fermín López, was born more than a decade later (2003).
One of these two footballing powers will be crowned today at the Parc des Princes, in the men’s football final scheduled for 10:00 a.m. (Central Mexico time) on Friday.

France has plenty of reasons to dream of winning gold in men’s football at the Olympic Games.
