«We have been sailing in the Snipe class for five years. We had the opportunity to qualify for the Cascais World Cup, but we didn’t achieve it. And when we found out that the next one was in Argentina, we made an effort and were very eager since we wanted to be there. In addition, one of the qualifying events was the Spanish championship that our club organized in Getxo last year in September. It went very well for all of us and then we went to Malaga, where we managed to qualify for this World Cup. We have trained a lot and we are very excited to sail in Argentina. We will meet high-level participants and we don’t know how we can turn out. “We are going to enjoy, to learn everything we can to progress towards future world championships,” the four sailors said before traveling to Argentina, grateful for the support received to be able to live this experience.
In recent years, Tomás Trueba, Gabriel Oraá, Nicolás Viar and Silvia Marcé have sailed in this Snipe class with the aim of improving and obtaining great results such as this qualification for the World Cup in Argentina. Tomás Trueba and Gabriel Oraá will be the ESP 29258 crew; and Nicolás Viar and Silvia Marcé the ESP 26384. The scoring tests for this event organized by the Argentine Yacht Club begin on Tuesday, October 29.
