Epic Games has announced a major change to its policy for managing exclusive content Fortnite like the Battle Pass Rewardsallowing these to be purchased at the store within the game, but only after a certain period of time from their first appearance.
In the announcement regarding “Changes to Item Exclusivity in Future Fortnite Battle Passes,” Epic Games announced that items included in future Fortnite Battle Passes may become purchasable in the Fortnite store—so perhaps not all of them automatically, but with a selection applied.
These will also become available in the store only after 18 months or more from the expiration of the Battle Pass, so there will be a time limit within which these items can only be obtained through the Pass, and then possibly purchased in the shop.
Some precise rules on the matter
However, there may be some variations when these reappear in the store: “a Battle Pass item may include a different number of alternative styles when it will be published on the store”, the communication also reads.
Essentially, all types of items contained in future Battle Pass rewards may arrive in the store 18 months after they first appear, but not all items that appear as rewards will actually arrive in the store.
Additionally, the number of alternate styles included in the Battle Pass may vary each time items are added to the store: “If a Battle Pass item arrives in the store complete with all alternate styles, players will be able to purchase the alternate styles included in the Battle Pass or the outfit if they don’t already own it.”
