(Reuters) – Former president Fernando Henrique Cardoso was hospitalized on Friday for a fractured femur, according to a tweet from his party, the PSDB.
“We wish President Fernando Henrique Cardoso a speedy recovery, who was hospitalized today for a fractured femur. Receive the hug from the toucans from all over Brazil, @FHC”, says the post on the PSDB’s Twitter account.
Media reports say that Fernando Henrique is hospitalized at the Albert Einstein hospital in São Paulo, but the hospital’s press office did not confirm the information.
Fernando Henrique was one of the founders of the PSDB and is its honorary president. He ruled Brazil for two terms between 1995 and 2001.
