Swiss billionaire Hansbjörg Wyss has teamed up with Todd Boehly of the United States and is preparing a takeover bid for the English Premier League club in Chelsea.
Swiss billionaire Hansbjörg Wyss is convinced that his and his partners’ takeover bid for the sale of Chelsea will be accepted, says the British The Guardian magazine.
The 86-year-old Wyss is an allied owner of LA Dodgers, a billionaire Todd Boehlyn with. According to The Guardian, the duo has already agreed to join other partners in the project, but the identities of these people have not been revealed.
Boehly is the founder of Eldridge Industries, a US investment company. Wyss has previously partnered with Boehly and has flown to California, USA to bid and negotiate.
Swiss billionaire has been setting up and running a company that manufactures medical devices. The name of the company is Synthes Holding AG.
Wyss told the Swiss newspaper Blick that Chelsea was trading Roman Abramovich the original price request was too high. Abramovich initially wanted nearly five billion euros from the club, but analysts say he is unlikely to receive more than 2.5 billion euros from the club.

Negotiations are being fueled by the news that Abramovich could face significant sanctions. The British government has not imposed sanctions on Abramovich since Russia expanded its hostilities in Ukraine.
