Ajax-PSV ended undecided. The other top poster this weekend had a winner: Feyenoord. Although AZ deserved more. In the AD Football Podcast, Etienne Verhoeff looks back with Maarten Wijffels on the injury wave in Eindhoven, the first minutes of Henderson, Bijlow's injury, Giménez's form crisis, NEC football and the concerns in Volendam and Arnhem.
“There are quite a few teams in Europe that are currently having difficulty completing a match,” Wijffels looks back on Ajax-PSV and the striking number of cramps. 'Because things are difficult at PSV at the moment, they may have to make more runs. However, this can also cause injuries.'
Ajax-PSV ended 1-1. Ajax seems to be recovering somewhat, partly due to a new purchase. 'Henderson is able to get more peace in Ajax's game by playing very simply. You won't see that right away every match, but against PSV you saw what you could expect from him in advance.'
Feyenoord won 0-1 at AZ, but the football didn't last. 'At Feyenoord a number of players are demonstrably inferior. Giménez, for example. Nothing remains of that for a while. After his substitution, there was a really sad bunch of people there. It won't be a Jørgensen story, will it? The decline is too great.'
