These Germans managed a touchdown in the NFL
Dusseldorf Markus Kuhn was the first German to achieve a touchdown in the NFL. He made football history almost seven years ago. Meanwhile, three more Germans belong to the exclusive club.
Equanimeous St. Brown almost made German football history on Sunday. When the Green Bay Packers beat the Chicago Bears 24:14, the Packers wide receiver was thrown in the end zone by quarterback Aaron Rodgers and caught the ball. The 25-year-old would have been the first German to score two touchdowns in the NFL are. The touchdown was withdrawn because of a foul (pass interference). St. Brown had already scored his first touchdown in the NFL against the Tennessee Titans on December 28, 2020. He was only the third German ever to have achieved this feat.
Meanwhile his brother Amon-Ra St. Brown is doing better. The pre-season rookie, who was drafted by the Detroit Lions, caught three touchdowns in 2021. This makes him the first German who succeeded in this.
Also against the Titans, but in the jersey of the New York Giants and seven years earlier, on December 7, 2014, Markus Kuhn made the German football dream come true. He took advantage of a loss of the ball by the Titans and ran 26 yards into their end zone.
Six years passed before Jakob Johnson also added himself to the list on September 21, 2020. It was only a one-yard pass from Cam Newton that Johnson caught and his team, the New England Patriots, lost 30:35 to the Seattle Seahawks. Nevertheless, Johnson made it into the history books, at least in the German ones.
