Franz Beckenbauer dies
Franz Beckenbauer has died at the age of 78. For all 'Der Kaiser', Beckenbauer was the legend of German football.
As a player he was world champion in 1974 and as a coach he won the 1990 World Cup.
In recent years Beckenbauer had suffered from serious health problems and had withdrawn from the public scene. He lived in Austria in the Salzburg area.
