Twelve one person has been injured after a Qatar Airways plane ran into turbulence, reports news agency Reuters.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft en route from Doha, Qatar to Dublin, Ireland on Sunday encountered turbulence over Turkey, says Irish Broadcasting Corporation RTÉ.
According to RTÉ, six passengers and six crew members were injured in the incident.
However, the plane was able to land in Dublin safely and on schedule, Dublin Airport announced. First aid was on the field opposite the plane.
Accident happened just five days after one person died and dozens were injured on a Singapore Airlines flight encountered severe turbulence en route from London to Singapore. The plane had to make an emergency landing at Bangkok airport.
Turbulence-related accidents are common, but extremely rarely fatal.
According to the US National Transportation Safety Board, between 2009 and 2018, turbulence caused one in three accidents in airlines. Most of them resulted in one or more serious injuries.
