ArianaNews: 50 people became victims of flooding in the Afghan province of Ghor
Fifty people have died from flooding in the Afghan province of Ghor, and another 10 are missing. How reports citing local officials, the ArianaNews portal also reported that 2,000 houses were also destroyed, and another 4,000 buildings were partially damaged.
It is also known that thousands of livestock were lost and more than 50 different vehicles were damaged. In addition, bridges and hundreds of hectares of agricultural land were destroyed. The disaster led to the closure of highways leading from the province to Kabul and Herat.
Seven more people became victims of flooding in Faryab province. There, floods also caused enormous material damage, according to local authorities.
Catastrophic floods hit northern Afghanistan in the first half of May. They seriously damaged residential buildings and infrastructure in several provinces at once, and a large number of casualties were also reported. Emergency services, with the help of national army and police security forces, are clearing the wreckage of buildings.
