To access more information about the status of the CPF, students must download the Student Journey app
O MEC (Ministry of Education) started paying the 2nd installment of the Pé-de-Meia program on Thursday (April 25, 2024).
However, some students have still not been able to locate their CPF (Individual Taxpayer Registration Number) in the application. Student Journey or have doubts regarding the processes to be followed. Therefore, the MEC prepared a step-by-step guide on what to do to participate.
The 1st point is for the student to find out if they are eligible for the Nest Egg. To be entitled to savings, you must meet the following criteria:
- be 14 to 24 years old;
- have a regular CPF;
- be regularly enrolled in public high school;
- have at least 80% class attendance per month;
- be a member of CadÚnico (Single Registry for Federal Government Social Programs) and beneficiary of Bolsa Família (until January 2024).
If you meet all these criteria, the student simply needs to access the application with their gov.br account and see if they are already participating. Students who do not have a CPF can request the document from the Federal Revenue Service. On the Student Journey app page, you can check eligibility.
In the event that the CPF is not located in the Student Journey, there are two possible explanations: either the student does not meet all the criteria established by the program, or their registration data may be out of date with the education network.
If the problem was the latter, it is necessary to contact school management to rectify the information. School management will then contact the education department to ensure that the information is properly updated.
Program deposits are made by Caixa Econômica Federal, in a digital account automatically opened by the bank. If the beneficiary student is over 18 years old, the account will already be unlocked to use the amount received. If he is still a minor, to operate the account, withdraw money or use the Caixa Tem application, his legal guardian must provide consent and authorize the actions.
Enlargement
The president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) announced the expansion of the public served by Pé-de-Meia on Monday (April 22, 2024). The MEC program will now include all young people from families registered with CadÚnico, as long as they are enrolled in public secondary education.
The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddadstated that the cost of expanding the program will be around R$3 billion per year.
Around 1.2 million students should be covered, which increases the number of beneficiaries to 3.7 million. The agency’s technical teams are now working on drafting new normative acts, which will define the operationalization and execution of the new group of young people served. The expansion of the Nest Egg should be done in the 2nd half of this year.
