During the PAX East 2023 panel dedicated to Final Fantasy 16producer Naoki Yoshida has promised they are on the way new details on RPG elements of the title during the course of the month of April 2023.
This detail was confirmed during a Q&A in which Yoshi-P answered point blank to a series of questions posed by fans. One of these, which seemed more like a criticism than a question, stated “You have removed the RPG elements from my action-RPG”. In response, the producer reassured longtime fans by stating that new details will be revealed over the next month. It has not been specified exactly when, but we are now running out of March, so it is a question of waiting a few weeks in the worst case.
As you may know, Final Fantasy 16 will have a combat system strongly focused on action, so much so that Naoki Yoshida has not hidden that he took inspiration from Capcom, PlatinumGames and FromSoftware titles, continuing on the path started by the fifteenth chapter, which did not go down to that portion of fans who were hoping for an experience closer to past titles in the saga. However, this does not necessarily mean that the GDR component will be reduced to the bone and at this point we just have to wait for the next round of information arriving in April to find out more.
In the meantime, if you haven’t done so yet, you can read our Final Fantasy 16 review and watch the trailer dedicated to the game’s settings shown yesterday during the PAX East 2023 panel. We remind you that the game will be available on PS5 starting from June 22, 2023.
