Final Fantasy 16 is available on PC since yesterday and after about 24 hours from the launch it is possible to see the first results it has made on Steam, which appear to be decidedly good. The Square Enix game is in fact found in first position in the global revenue rankingabove Apex Legends and Counter-Strike 2, as well as Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
Good results
It will probably be threatened in the next few days by Frostpunk 2, still available for pre-order, which has received very positive reviews from the press, and could be attacked by Kratos and Atreus, the protagonists of God of War: Ragnarök (it’s a hot period for PC gamers, no need to say). In the meantime, however, it can enjoy the view from the top of the charts and the peak of 22,444 concurrent playersreached at the time of writing this news, which will probably grow in the next few hours.
We are not at the level of the launches of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 or Black Myth: Wukongbut the result certainly doesn’t seem to be bad. We’ll see if it can surpass Final Fantasy XV’s peak player count, which was 29,498 players at launch.
It is also right to point out the appreciation of the PC users, with 80% of the nearly one thousand reviews published are positive. The complaints are mostly about some performance issues on some systems, which will hopefully be resolved in future updates.
For the rest, we remind you that Final Fantasy 16 is also available for PS5, where it seems to have not recorded great sales. Who knows if it had been launched simultaneously on PC how it would have gone.
