A special series of the Fiat 500 to celebrate a timeless icon. It will be called “1957 Collection” and wants to pay homage to the year in which, thanks to the creativity and ingenuity of Dante Giacosa, the queen of small cars made its first appearance on the Italian market. The number of examples available will be 1957 intended for European and Japanese enthusiasts.
What changes
What changes compared to a normal 500? First of all the two-tone bodywork – Gelato White and Rugiada Green with Beige hood – accentuated by the new Silver beauty line and the 16″ white diamond-cut alloy wheels and echoed by the chrome rear-view mirror caps and the third light with celebratory silk-screen printing. Inside, the ivory-coloured seats with Frau leather inserts and the characteristic embroidered “ONE OF 1957″ logo stand out, as well as the wooden dashboard and the dedicated numbered plate on the central tunnel. Also included in the standard equipment are chrome details, LED DRL headlights, fog lights and a 7” color TFT digital display in the instrument cluster. Connectivity features are advanced thanks to MOPAR CONNECT.
Engines
Finally, there are two engines available: a 70 HP 1.0 Hybrid combined with a manual gearbox for the European market, and a 69 HP 1.2 liter engine combined with the MTA robotized gearbox for Japan. “With over 3.2 million units sold worldwide since 2007, of which over 2.7 million in Europe, the Fiat 500 has always been and still is the European leader in the city car segment together with the Fiat Panda,” they say to the parent company. “In 2023 it will be the second best-selling city car in Europe after the Panda, with 109 thousand units sold and a market share of 20%. It occupies the podium in segment A in 9 countries: first in Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium and Portugal – second in Italy and Poland and third in France and the United Kingdom”.
