Gran Turismoedited by Polyphonya racing car title that has made the world of driving video game enthusiasts dream for generations, is no longer the leader of FIA Motorsport Games: overtaking is by the very Italian Assetto Corsa Competition.
After having suffered the abandonment of the professional driver and former reigning champion Valerio Galloin that of Polyphony pulls a bad, at times very bad air given that the license of the FIA (International Automobile Federation) has expired and the company has not renewed the contract for the next Motorsport Games, an international event held every year.
Moreover, GT7 is not doing very well due to some problems related to the netcode that put professional drivers in crisis, more and more inclined to switch to other in view of “better tracks”.
Assetto Corsa Competition however it is not GT7: the latter is in fact defined as sim / arcade or simulator as much as possible but always with arcade elements while the first of the two is to be considered a simulator in all respects, not surprisingly Ferrari has been using it for years as a testing product for its own vehicles. However, we are talking about a work aimed at the general public so do not be impressed if Assetto Corsa can be an excellent simulation title but you will not find it in track simulators from Formula 1.
The situation seems somewhat complex and there are not a few who wonder how it can be Gran Turismo 7 recover from a blow in such an epochal world: there are those who hypothesize that the game will be abandoned by most in favor of the new “title of the moment” but that in a second period it will reappear while there are those who already give it as provision “in the pits”. Sony, for its part, has not yet commented on this event and we expect a statement from you shortly.
