After the teaser released a few days ago that anticipated the lines and shapes, Ferrari has unveiled the new one Vision Gran Turismo, the first concept car from Maranello intended for the Gran Turismo video game series. We are talking about a single-seater with covered wheels characterized by a futuristic design, dedicated exclusively to the world of virtual motorsport: it boasts a style that rests on the great tradition of the Prancing Horse in motor racing, starting with the number 75 which stands out on the side in honor of the brand’s anniversary.
Going more specifically, the design of the new Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo was conceived by Ferrari Style Center under the direction of Flavio Manzoni, and draws inspiration from the world of Ferrari Sport Prototypes of the 60s and 70s, undisputed protagonists in endurance races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Daytona. The powerful and futuristic lines of this concept steal the show, which allow it to perfectly embody the DNA of masterpieces such as the Ferrari 330 P3 and 512 S. It is a sort of anticipation of the future evolutions of wheeled racing cars blankets, in which aerodynamics play a central role: in this sense the presence of two impressive lateral canalspatented by Ferrari with the aim of channeling the airflow from the front of the underbody around the cockpit and over the large side pods.
The engine configuration of this concept is hybrid: hidden under the bonnet is a three-litre 1,030 bhp 120° biturbo V6 combined with three electric motors mounted, one on the rear axle and one on each of the front wheels, which overall are capable of adding 326 bhp. The maximum torque delivered is 1,100 Nm. We are talking about a hybrid technology that benefits from the experience in terms of electric boost strategies and energy recovery gained by the Maranello company over years of Formula 1. The body of the new Vision Gran Turismo appears to be suspended on a flat carbon fiber base which incorporates all the technical elements, while the chassis has been designed to emphasize the lateral dynamics of the car. Mention also for the suspension, designed to always keep the contact surface of the tires unchanged for the benefit of maximum traction. Ferrari has announced that the 1:1 scale model of the new Vision GT will be on display at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello from December 15, 2022 to March 2023.
