Ferrari Challenge | Double for Pin and Ziemian in Budapest

The Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe faced its third round, in the year of its thirtieth edition, with four exciting and hard-fought races on the Hungaroring track.

On the first day of the third round of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe, which takes place on the Hungaroring track, Doriane Pin (Scuderia Niki – Iron Lynx) gets her third victory of the season in the Pirelli Trophy, a result that allows her to earn valuable points and extend the general classification.

Among the Ams, Ange Barde (SF Côte d’Azur Cannes – IB FAST) continues the streak of consecutive successes and reaches five in this edition of the 30th anniversary of the Maranello single-brand store.

In the Shell Cup Roman Ziemian (FML – D2P) transforms pole into triumph, while among the Ams the first affirmation for Maurizio Pitorri (CDP – Best Lap).

Doriane Pin gets on the top step of the podium thanks to an excellent start that allows her to overtake poleman John Wartique (FML – D2P) and create a reassuring advantage to win with confidence.

In third place goes Josef Král (Scuderia Praha), able to get the better of Eliseo Donno (CDP – Best Lap), overtaken also by Luka Nurmi (Formula Racing).

The Finn defends the fourth absolute position until the last meter, undermined for the whole 30 minutes by Ange Barde who was then the winner among the Ams in front of Marco Pulcini (Al Tayer Motors).

On the last step of the podium of the class Christian Brunsborg (Formula Racing) climbs ahead of Arno Dahlmeyer (Scuderia Niki – Iron Lynx). Both took advantage of a mistake by David Gostner (CDP – MP Racing) who came along at turn 1 while occupying third place.

Nicolò Rosi (Kessel Racing) immediately left the scene, despite his third place in qualifying, sidelined by a contact during the first lap.

Second seal of the season for Roman Ziemian who wins success at the end of a test conditioned by an accident at the first corner that triggered the entry of the Safety Car and the exit of probable protagonists such as Joakim Olander (Scuderia Autoropa), Ernst Kirchmayr (Baron Motorsport), Fons Scheltema (Kessel Racing), Christian Herdt-Wipper (Saggio München) and Peter Christensen (Formula Racing).

At the restart Ziemian is good at reconfirming himself at the head of the race, a position he maintains up to the checkered flag, anticipating Axel Sartingen (Lueg Sportivo – Herter Racing) and Franz Engstler (Scuderia GT), despite the German’s final forcing to try to overcome the leader of the ranking.

Among the Am, first victory in the Ferrari Challenge for Maurizio Pitorri who triumphs ahead of Tommy Lindroth (Baron Motorsport) and Alexander Nussbaumer (Gohm Motorsport – Herter Racing), with the latter good at getting the better of Martinus Richter (Mertel Motorsport Racing ) at the end of a nice duel.

Doriane Pin (Scuderia Niki – Iron Lynx) in the Trofeo Pirelli and Roman Ziemian (FML – D2P) in the Coppa Shell are confirmed in the second race of the weekend.

In the Trofeo Pirelli Am first victory in 2022 for Nicolò Rosi (Kessel Racing), while in the Shell Am Cup first seal of Herdt-Wipper (Saggio München), just entered the class.

Thanks to a race always led from pole to finish, Romain Ziemian closes the Hungarian weekend with a splendid double. His success was never in question, not even when some voiceovers slowed his escape.

The Coppa Shell Am race is full of twists and turns, right from the start, with Christian Herdt-Wipper who, starting from pole, loses the lead in favor of Henrik Kamstrup (Formula Racing) who, unfortunately, is forced shortly afterwards. to return to the pits and retire.

Having regained the lead of the group, Herdt-Wipper continues his march towards victory, while behind him a bit of everything happens between contacts, withdrawals and penalties.

In the end, to get on the podium together with the German are Alexander Nussbaumer (Gohm Motorsport – Herter Racing), second, and Tommy Lindroth (Baron Motorsport), third, good to overtake Andreas König in the last laps.

Trofeo Pirelli rankings

Doriane Pin goes to 91 points, increasing her advantage over John Wartique to 15. Among the Am Ange Barde still remains firmly in command of the general classification, at an altitude of 92, ahead of Marco Pulcini by 31 points.

Coppa Shell standings
