Ferrari is looking for new space to test its future supercars. Or rather, a new track, perhaps the one that the Prancing Horse car manufacturer intends to build in Fiorano: a few days ago the first information emerged regarding the project for the “Test Track” filed with the competent offices, and also the first images of the layout of the new test track have emerged, among the many documents that have appeared in the section dedicated to the project on the Emilia-Romagna Region website.
New Ferrari track at Fiorano
We know that the new Ferrari project should include a 2km track that the Maranello brand would like to build in via Madonna del Sagrato, right where the vaccination center was set up during the Covid-19 pandemic. After its decommissioning, in fact, the Prancing Horse would have evaluated the creation of a new space right there, next to the Fiorano track, for test future new models.
Images and layouts
The indiscretion was collected a few days ago by La Gazzetta di Modena, which explained how in the company’s thoughts the area of 120,000 square meters could be fully exploited, thus expanding its scope up to 128,000 square meters thanks to the shared border with the Fiorano track. The company in charge would be Dromo, which in the report provided illustrates what the characteristics of this future track.
Some examples? The presence of a curve elevated to ensure that Ferrari drivers can test the cars at high and constant speeds, or even that of a straightwith zero transverse slope, a minimum length of 500 metres, to be covered at 100 kilometres per hour. In addition to the track itself, the Maranello-based company’s project also includes the construction of a workshop 1,000 square meters and possible direct connections to the Fiorano track. Further official information is expected very soon.
