Marina di Guardio – Chiara Ferragni –
Chiara Ferragni, mother comes to the influencer’s rescue. Marina Di Guardo in the “Sisterhood” empire
Chiara Ferragni’s mother, the writer Marina Di Guardo, enters the management of her daughter’s group with extensive powers. A package of broad powers was formally granted to her, with a notarial deed, at the end of last week.
Until now, the 62-year-old had no managerial roles, but now she becomes a sort of general manager of the company holding Sisterhood which controls the assets of the thirty-seven-year-old Milanese influencer, i.e. the properties (starting with the attic) and the operating companies Fenice and Tbs. As reported The Corriere della Sera, Di Guardo’s entry into the control room could be a first, significant step in a broader reorganization which, with the approval of the 2023 budgets already affected by the crisis, could involve the two operating companies Fenice and Tbs. The first, 32.5% owned, is the licensee of the “Chiara Ferragni” brands and in 2022, the latest financial statement available, it had achieved 15.6 million in revenues with 3.4 million in profit; the second is a “talent agency” that also manages blogs and e-commerce and in 2022 had a turnover of 14.5 million with 5.1 in profit.
On May 29th Maurizio Binelli continues The Courier, he presented himself to the Milanese notary Patrizia Leccardi with the package of powers of attorney to be assigned to Marina Di Guardo in his hand. Binelli is a consultant with activities mainly in Lugano, Switzerland and is the sole director of Sisterhood, Chiara Ferragni’s 100% safe. Among the powers of mother Ferragni are that of hiring and firing staff, signing and revoking contracts of any type, opening and closing credit lines, operating on bank accounts, representing the company in court and before a series of public bodies, appointing lawyers, carry out any tax procedures etc. Mrs. Di Guardo «before dedicating herself to writing (novels, ed.), she worked as deputy director of the Blumarine showroom», we read in a short biography of her. In Sisterhood she is therefore, technically, the company’s attorney.
And the move continues The Courier, it has all the appearance of being a “commissioner” by Fabio Damato, historic manager who has supported Chiara Ferragni for years, also overwhelmed by the pandorogate. Di Guardo’s portfolio of delegations, in fact, overlaps perfectly with that of Damato. Now many in the operating companies expect a step backwards from Chiara Ferragni, who is president of TBS Crew and CEO of Fenice, perhaps too many management responsibilities formally concentrated on the shoulders of the founder, who is also under investigation for the hypothesis of aggravated fraud The exponential growth of business has multiplied the need for adequate compliance (i.e. supervision for respecting the rules and protecting the company’s reputation) which perhaps should (and should) be strengthened with a greater involvement of ad hoc professionals.
