Feijóo once again calls for Sánchez’s resignation: “He is one in decline and zero in public service”

The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has once again demanded the resignation of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, after the judge investigating the ‘Koldo case’ in the National Court, Ismael Serrano, has elevated the case to the Court Supreme Court to be able to investigate the deputy and former minister José Luis Ábalos for his “main role” in the plot. He said this in statements to journalists in Congress at the end of a plenary session in which he did not intervene. Of course, he has continued without confirming when he will be called to the Senate investigative committee.

“Sánchez is surrounded by corruption in his environment, in his Government and in his party. Sánchez is the one of the corrupt plot,” said Feijóo, in reference to the WhatsApp messages between the members of the plot that justice is investigating and who referred to the president as “the one.” “I want to tell you that for the second time in Parliament, I come to formally request the resignation of the President of the Government. “It is one in decline and zero in public service and the future of our country,” he added.

“What we are experiencing, which directly affects the President of the Government, we have never, ever experienced in 46 years of democracy and no matter how much information has come out in the last few days, in the last few weeks or because of what remains to come out, we do not We can get used to living in this rotten situation of the Presidency of the Government.

The reality is that Feijóo has asked for Pedro Sánchez’s resignation countless times, although more insistently since the accusation of his wife, Begoña Gómez, and the letter with which he announced a five-day “reflection” to decide whether he would continue to serve. in front of the Government, as finally happened. Both he and his spokespersons have done it time and again with the head of the Executive and with many of his ministers. This morning, with the first vice president, María Jesús Montero.

Feijóo has made a list of the events that, according to him, should lead to Sánchez’s immediate resignation. “The judge says verbatim that there are well-founded and serious indications that Mr. Sánchez’s ‘number two’ [en realidad, exnúmero dos, ya que dejó de ser secretario de Organización del PSOE hace tres años] was part of a criminal organization. It is impossible for all this to happen without the knowledge of one, that is, Mr. Sánchez,” he pointed out.

Feijóo has mentioned the ‘case “Gobierno o Koldo”, but has also referred to the investigation against Begoña Gómez. ”The reality is that the only politician in this country who has his partner accused of business corruption and influence peddling is the President of the Government, the only politician whose partner has abused official offices to do private business, object of judicial investigation, is the president of the Government,” he said.

Despite calling for Sánchez’s resignation, Feijóo has assured that his party is not yet going to summon Pedro Sánchez to the Senate investigation commission, whose list of appearances he has been part of for months. The PP, which controls the Upper House with an absolute majority, could call him to appear whenever it wanted but, for the moment, it has not done so nor will it do so in the immediate future.

“Mr. Sánchez is going to appear in the Senate when we have all the judicial information available or at least everything that we consider sufficient,” he assured when asked by journalists. “Today we have more information to make the list of questions than to Mr. Sánchez. But who knows, maybe we will have more information in a few days or a few weeks,” he said.

Ayuso and her “mood”

Feijóo has also defended the decision of the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, not to go to the Moncloa Palace this Friday to meet with Pedro Sánchez, something that Feijóo himself considered “a mistake.” The leader of the PP has highlighted that Ayuso informed the president “of the plan” “the first time”, and has indicated that “it is systematically attacked.” “How can I not understand that any person with these conditions, simply from a mental point of view, is not in condition,” he concluded.

The leader of the PP has maintained that the Government uses the president of Madrid as a smokescreen to cover up “the gushing corruption”, its “division” internally and with its partners or that “a train is about to collide with another with a hundred travelers.” “I have been in politics for some time and I can assure you that I am not going to get lost. “I understand that what the Government intends is to talk about Mrs. Ayuso, but what the Spanish want to know is what is happening in their Government,” he said.

Feijóo has assured that “of course” he supports the president, although on Monday his most direct team maintained that, as he said in September, the PP leader believes it is “a mistake” not to attend the meeting in Moncloa.

“Since Sunday we discussed that decision I told him that of course I understood it,” Feijóo noted this Wednesday. “How can I not understand? How can I not understand when a person is attacked and persecuted in a constant and systematic way, when in parliament, in the Congress of Deputies, the President of the Government himself calls him corrupt. And when several ministers insist, when there is no hint of any issue pending in a court, they insist that she is corrupt and her family is called confessed criminals?, he added, in reference to Ayuso’s partner, Alberto González Amador. , who acknowledged several tax crimes through his lawyer.

“How can I not understand that in these conditions any person, simply from an emotional point of view, is not in a position to be able to have a meeting with the person responsible for these defamations and accusations?” he pointed out. Feijóo has settled: “He has given the corresponding explanations. To me the first. I insist, to me first, and then to you.”
