Fear for Helmut Marko: “I had Covid, I couldn’t speak”

Despite not having a marked absence either in Monaco or Montreal, on the weekend of the Canadian Grand Prix Helmut Marko he seemed less talkative than usual. The reason was explained by the 81-year-old from Graz himself: he was recently hit by Covid, certainly not a walk in the park given his age.

“After the Monte Carlo weekend I was quite down in the dumps.”he emphasized to the Austrians of Oe24adding: “I had Covid and I couldn’t even speak. Now I’m fine again.” In short, despite having contracted the virus, Marko did not want to miss the appointment in Canada.

The Max factor

And in Montreal he was able to admire a demonstration of strength – yet another – from Max Verstappen, capable of qualifying second and winning on a wet track, probably not having the best car of the lot: “He won thanks to what I call the Max factor. Only he has this vision of the race and the ability to push on the accelerator when necessary. And beyond this, our team has chosen the right strategy”
